Founded in Scotland in 1451, the University of Glasgow is one of the oldest universities in the area and a member of the Russell Group. The university has three campuses: Gilmorehill Campus, Garscube Campus and Dumfries Campus. According to the QS World University Rankings 2022, Glasgow University ranks 73rd among global universities. In The Times & Sunday Times Good University Guide 2022, it ranks 12th in the UK. The university has produced many internationally renowned figures, including the "Father of Economics", seven Nobel Prize winners and two prime ministers.
