Founded in Scotland in 1451, the University of Glasgow is one of the oldest universities in the area and a member of the Russell Group. The university has three campuses: Gilmorehill Campus, Garscube Campus and Dumfries Campus. According to the QS World University Rankings 2022, Glasgow University ranks 73rd among global universities. In The Times & Sunday Times Good University Guide 2022, it ranks 12th in the UK. The university has produced many internationally renowned figures, including the "Father of Economics", seven Nobel Prize winners and two prime ministers. The university is most famous for its gothic-style university campus, which is very distinctive and impressive.

 

Subject introduction:

Glasgow University has hundreds of different disciplines. According to The Times & Sunday Times Good University Guide 2022 rankings, Dentistry, Veterinary Medicine and Civil Engineering rank the top three in the UK, while Medicine, Accounting and Finance, Art & Design , Sport Science, Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Geography are all among the top ten in the UK. In addition, the top 20 subjects including Economics, Chemistry, Music, and History are also popular among students.

 

In addition to bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees, Glasgow University also cooperates with the educational institution Kaplan. Students who complete a year of university-based courses and meet the performance requirements can be linked to the first year of university.

The university is located in Glasgow, a large city in Scotland, near Glasgow Airport. It is only a fifteen-minute drive from the airport to the university, and an hour's drive from Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland. Glasgow city center has been selected as the UK's first choice for shopping outside of London, with well-known large stores and supermarkets.
