Birmingham City University is a modern university. Its predecessor was Birmingham College of Art, which was established in 1843, and was upgraded to an accredited university in 1992. Birmingham City has 24,000 students from 80 different countries. The university's courses are highly practical and innovative, and are committed to providing work-related training for students during their studies.
