Durham University

School Profile:

Founded in 1832, Durham University is the third oldest university in the UK and a member of the Russell Group. History is second only to University of Oxford and University of Cambridge. The cathedral and castle on campus are listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. The university retains the traditional college system, and the college adopts a tutor system that allows tutors to tutor students in small groups. The school's achievements in education and research are very outstanding, and it ranks among the best in many international and British rankings. The school ranks 82nd in the QS World University Rankings 2022, and is the top 100 university in the world. In the Times & Sunday Times Good University Guide 2022, it ranked 6th in the UK, and ranked 5th and 6th in The Guardian University Ranking 2022 and The Complete University Guide 2022 respectively.

 

Subject introduction:

The university consists of 16 colleges, among which Law and Business are the most outstanding and are popular courses for many students. The university has obtained very high rankings in the UK in many subjects. For example, Biological Sciences and Computer Sciences are ranked in the Top 10 of The Times & The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2022. Whether it is a bachelor's or a master's program, it is a guarantee of confidence. The University also opened the International Study Centre at Queen's Campus, providing students with a one-year university foundation course.

 

Geographical location:

The University is located in a historic city in the northeast of England, with a strong cultural atmosphere and one of the most beautiful cities in the north. Durham is a small city surrounded by countryside and coastline, with good security and a good learning environment. The University is close to Newcastle International Airport, only fifteen minutes by train to Newcastle, and three to four hours by train to the City of London. The school has two campuses, the main campus is located in Durham, and the other campus is in Stockton.
