Norwich University of the Arts (NUA) was founded in 1845 and has 170 years of teaching experience. It is a private university focusing on art, design and media teaching. The university, formerly known as the Norwich School of Design, began offering bachelor's programs in 1965 and was upgraded to a university in 2013 with approximately 2,360 students. The school has always adhered to the student-oriented concept, focusing on the process of students putting theory and creative practice into practice, and providing students with a friendly and creative campus community. NUA won the Gold Award in the 2018 Teaching Excellence Framework and ranked the top ten in the UK in terms of teaching quality, so it was rated as the top creative university in the industry. NUA has cultivated many talents in the industry. Graduates have participated in creative productions including the logo design of the Wimbledon Tennis Championships, the logo design of Formula 1, the production design of eight episodes of Harry Potter movies, and the brand design of Air Asia. The university is located in the center of Norwich, a coastal city in the northeast of London, with a mix of history and contemporary architecture. It was named one of the most livable cities in 2018 by The Sunday Times and is very popular with international students. Norwich is the first city in the UK to be awarded the "City of Literature" by UNESCO.
