The University of Dundee was formerly an affiliated college of St. Andrew's. After a 70-year relationship with St. Andrew's, it became an independent university in 1967 and was renamed Dundee. Up to now, the university has more than 12,000 full-time undergraduate students, and about 22% of the total number of students are international students. The Best UK Universities 2022 is ranked 31st. The University's research in many fields has reached world-class levels, especially in the field of medicine, which has cultivated many talents. The University's Students' Union has been voted the best in Scotland and hosts a variety of events and sporting competitions. The university's clubs and social clubs cover a wide range of fields, from politics to the arts. Sports facilities include a gym, tennis courts and a 25m swimming pool.
Subject introduction:
The University has nine faculties offering more than 100 courses in science, business, arts and humanities, health and law. In 2017, the university's £3.5 million science and technology laboratory was officially opened. The cutting-edge scientific laboratory created by the university will take the university's Food Science, Forensic Science and Biomedical Sciences to a higher level, ranking first in Scotland. The university also offers English courses, foundation courses and pre-master's courses.
Geographical location:
The university is located west of the city center of Dundee, Scotland on the east coast of Scotland. It is the fourth largest city in Scotland. The transportation network covers the urban and suburban areas, with easy access to spectacular scenery, skiing, climbing and sailing. It is also just over an hour's drive from the other three major cities in Scotland and about an hour's drive from Edinburgh Airport.
