Cardiff University (Cardiff) was founded in 1883 and is one of the top British universities in the Russell Group. Cardiff is the only Russell Group member university in Wales. The school has a high reputation in the field of research. Cardiff is world-renowned in Architecture, Civil Engineering and Communication & Media. It also has the largest medical school in Wales. Currently, Cardiff has more than 33,000 students enrolled, including more than 8,500 international students from more than 130 countries.

 

Using its own scientific research advantages and resources, Cardiff actively participates in international academic research projects. The two Nobel Prize winners of the university have made great research contributions in medicine and chemistry respectively. The University's research strength and influence have earned it the top five awards in the UK in the Research Excellence Framework.

 

Subject introduction:

The university has three colleges, namely College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, College of Biomedical and Life Sciences and College of Physical Sciences and Engineering, offering more than 300 bachelor's, master's and doctoral programs. Among them, disciplines such as Architecture, Medicine, Civil Engineering and Communication & Media are the most popular among students. The school is among the best in many disciplines, among which Architecture is among the top 10 in The Times & Sunday Times Good University Guide 2022. It is also ranked 37th in the subject of Architecture in the QS World University Rankings 2021, 28th in Communication & Media Studies, and 50th in Dentistry.

 

Geographical location:

The university is located in Cardiff, the capital of Wales, and it takes about three hours to arrive there by train from London Heathrow Airport. Both campuses are located in the city center of Cardiff, of which the Heath Park campus is only about 15 minutes away from the main campus by car, which is very convenient for students to buy daily necessities and leisure and entertainment.
