Bournemouth University

School Profile:

Bournemouth University was formerly the Bournemouth College of Technology established in 1976, and was officially upgraded to a university in 1992 according to the then newly revised "Continuing and Higher Education Act". The university currently has more than 19,000 local and international students and 1,800 faculty members, offering more than 150 bachelor's programs and nearly 100 master's programs. The University's teaching and research standards are high, with research from Bournemouth rated at 90% internationally recognised or higher in the Research Excellence Framework 2019. The University ranked 25th in Hospitality, Leisure, Recreation and Tourism in The Times & Sunday Times Good University Guide 2022; while the University focuses on cultivating students' employability skills, and cooperates with more world-renowned companies to hold employment consultation sessions and sharing sessions in different fields , also offers forward-looking internship experiences; and from the Graduate Outcomes Survey 2020, 91% of students are in employment or further study six months after graduation.

 

Subject introduction:

The university has four colleges, namely Faculty of Health and Social Sciences, Faculty of Management, Faculty of Media and Communication and Faculty of Science and Technology. Among them, The Department of Psychology, The Department of Media Production and The Department of Life and Environmental Sciences also won bronze medals in the departmental awards of the Athena SWAN award. In addition to the bachelor's and master's courses, Bournemouth University also cooperates with Kaplan Education Group to offer university foundation courses, diploma courses and pre-master's courses, with two admission periods in September or January. Students can be promoted to the same school after completing the course and obtaining a passing score.

Bournemouth Unviersity is located in Bournemouth, a famous coastal town on the south coast of England. The local scenery is beautiful and has a beautiful coastline, attracting many foreign tourists all year round.

Bournemouth University has two campuses, including the main campus Talbot Campus and the branch campus Lansdowne Campus, both of which are located in Bournemouth. Both campuses are approximately a two-hour drive by train from either London Heathrow or London Gatwick airports.
