School Profile:

The University of Southampton started in 1862 and was upgraded to a British university in 1952. It is one of the leading research universities in the UK and a member of the Russell University Group. The current student population exceeds 23,000, and more than 8,000 international students come from 134 countries every year. The school has a staff-to-student ratio of 1:12. The university has a high reputation both in the UK and internationally. In The Times & Sunday Times Good University 2022 rankings, the university ranks 16th in the UK overall. According to the 2022 QS World University Rankings, the university's overall ranking is within the top 100 in the world.  

 

Subject introduction:

The university has eight different colleges, namely: Faculty of Engineering and the Environment, Faculty of Business, Law and Art, Faculty of Health Science, Faculty of Humanities, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Natural and Environment Science, Faculty of Physical Science and Engineering, Faculty of Social, Human and Mathematical Science. The university's more famous subjects include: Physiotherapy, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Computer Science. The subject rankings of The Times & Sunday Times Good University 2022 are 1st, 6th, 5th and 11th respectively.

The University is located in Southampton, a city on the southern coast of England, with beautiful scenery and a very modern city. The University is conveniently located about an hour by train from London. The nearest airport is Southampton Airport, which takes about 25 minutes by car.
