The University of York was built in 1963 and is located in northeastern Scotland, England. The university has more than 30 departments and more than 200 societies. The University is also part of the Russell Group. The Russell Group is made up of 24 research-intensive universities that are regarded as making a significant contribution to the global economy; leading 68% of research projects in the UK. It can be seen that the school has made great achievements in teaching and research. The number of students is about 20,000, and international students account for about 20%. According to The Times & Sunday Times Good University Guide 2022, the school is ranked 20th in the UK. In the QS World University Rankings 2022 the school is ranked 151st in the world. The University of York has won the Gold Award in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) 2019, which shows that the school can provide students with high-quality courses and education.

The university has established three main colleges, including Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Faculty of Sciences and Faculty of Social Sciences. Offers students bachelor's, master's and postgraduate courses. According to The Guardian 2022, Nursing & Midwifery ranked 7th and Chemistry ranked 12th.

The University of York is located in York in the North East of England. It only takes about fifteen minutes by bus to reach the city center, which is very convenient. The train station is located in the city centre, about a two-hour drive from London. The closest airport to the University is Les Balafort Airport, which is only a fifty-minute drive away.
